October 2019 Newsletter

Principal Message

First, I would like to thank each and everyone of you for a very successful start to the 2019-20 school year. I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know you and your children over the past several weeks. I would also like to thank everyone that attended our first Pancake Social of the year in September. You will see our New mobile Bell Cabinet and Montessori Bells in our classrooms soon!

There are so many activities and events that would never be possible without the support of our PTO, and most importantly…”YOU” the parents. We are looking forward to expanding our PTO membership and the opportunities that we can provide to our students. I would like to encourage you to participate in any way that you can, such as volunteering your time, your suggestions or your talents, just to name a few.  We will be announcing our first BMPTO meeting in the next couple of weeks!

Don’t forget that our Wax Museum is just around the corner on October 17th!  This fun event is open to everyone!  Our Pre Kindergarten – sixth grade will be participating in this collaborative project. We are taking used book donations to support Book It Forward—a nonprofit organization that ensure that students at risk all have access to books in their home. This is a good opportunity to clean out any old books before our Book Fair in November.  If you are interested in purchasing items from our national fundraising program this month, stop by the front lobby to see the display for Charleston Wrap. All orders this year will be done online, please visit www.charlestonwrapstore.com to place your order. Our school code is 12140. Each person who orders will be given a raffle ticket to put in for the Dutch Oven or the Market Street Tote, with bonus Envelope Clutch (as seen on the display table). The Charleston Wrap Fundraiser will run from Sept. 30th-Oct. 14th. National fundraising supports our schools with capital funds for school improvements.

If you have noticed my visibility in the building has diminished a bit, you are correct!  I am subbing in a classroom for the next few weeks so I have not been available in the mornings at morning drop offs.  I will be out of the office the week of October 20th attending and presenting at a Leadership conference in Las Vegas!

Lastly, it has been so exciting to see our students arrive in our school colors/uniforms!  We see some students coming daily and others once a week!  Starting this month Friday is school color day!  Wear that school logo wear or blue, green, or white!

Make it a great month!

Kim
