Thank you for making time to connect with your teachers during parent teacher conferences last month! We are appreciative of your partnerships and look forward to the rest of the school year! Last month our students released 3, 075 ladybugs into our community garden on Earth Day and it was an exciting lesson! As we continue our daily Montessori work, we will also be incorporating lessons about the changing seasons, art, and the world. We will celebrate our amazing teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week, continue our gardening projects, and learn more about nature and ways to be environmentally friendly. We are happy to see a shift in the seasons are feeling excited to spend more time outside and extend our classrooms into nature! All of the things your children are doing every day are piecing together their understanding of the world and developing skills they will continue to use into their adult life. Thank you for entrusting us to help guide them through their process of learning.
Teacher Appreciation Week is May 6-10. This is the perfect time to express our gratitude to our amazing teachers who work tirelessly to educate and care for our students each and every day. They are the heart and soul of our school, and we are so fortunate to have such a dedicated and talented team. More information regarding Teacher Appreciation Week celebrations will be sent via Links 2 Home.
Community Garden
Please contact jamie@montessoriacademyidaho.com if you would like to help with our gardening efforts. Starting this week we will start working in small groups outside to prepare the garden for planting. We are so excited to get started! We are looking for consistent volunteers that can support the management of the garden through the rest of spring and summer months.
Sunscreen Season
Beginning May 1, please apply sunscreen to your child before the school day begins. We will have sunscreen available in the lobby for morning application. If you would like sunscreen applied in the afternoon (during after care) please make sure you have signed the consent form in the lobby and our teachers will assist in the application before outside time.
Sunscreen from home requires a completed medication form from the office before application at school.
Cubbies and Clothing
With the changing seasons, please ensure your child’s cubby is stocked with back up clothing that is weather appropriate. Additional items are encouraged as we often work with water and sand. For outdoor play we require closed toe and back strap. Please come prepared for the weather as Idaho tends to bring us a variety of temperatures and elements! If items are labeled we can better assist your child in keeping track of their layers. Thank you!
Thank you for your participation in our Parent Survey. We value your feedback as we continuously strive to improve our programs and enhance your child’s educational experience.
