A Note From Our Principal

Happy New Year! I hope you all enjoyed a healthy and happy holiday season. We can’t wait to spend 2022 with you and your children. I would like to thank all of you for your generosity over the holidays. The teachers, administrative team, and I truly appreciate all the gifts and notes we received! These thoughts of appreciation mean so much to us.   I recently came across an article published by American Montessori Society (AMS) that I thought would help us all as we return to the routines of school.  Follow this link to read up on 5 Tips for Preparing Students After Holiday Breaks As always, thank you for choosing our school for your children.

Sincerely, Lila Afoa

Re-Enrollment 2022-2023

You can save 75% on your annual registration fees by turning in your 2022-2023 tuition fee schedule by February 18th.   Please pick up or turn in your form to the front office.   2022 Summer camp registration will open up in February as well, so be on the lookout for those registration forms needed for attendance in July and August.

Winter Weather

The winter season is here. Please be sure to dress your child accordingly, including hats and mittens. Also, be sure that your child has extra clothes available in their cubby for the winter weather (this is a great time to check sizes too).   Pro-tip, label all layered clothing items.   For some, a DIY mitten string or mitten clip is a great support to keep gloves/mittens from getting lost while at school.

January School Events

Kindergarten Workshop; January 19-20  Third year students (kindergarten) will be participating in an art appreciation traveling workshop offered by Boise Art Museum.   Students will be studying a variety of mediums and creating an art piece to sell at our annual Farmer’s Market scheduled for April.

Saturday Open House; January 22  If you know of someone interested in Montessori or touring our facility, have them call our admissions desk to schedule a Saturday tour.   Our school will open up from 10-1 and touring by appointment only.

Montessori Curriculum Week; January 24-28  Teachers will be taking a deeper dive into the Montessori curricular areas.   Teachers will be laying out the process and materials used for mathematics, language, sensorial, cultural/science, and practical life.   They will show you what they look for in students to move from concrete to abstract learning over the 3 year process in the Primary classrooms.   Teachers will also be available to answer your questions about Montessori scope and sequence in the classroom.  Look for a link to join us for the event.

Book Fair; January 24-29  Families will have a chance to purchase quality books for home while simultaneously giving back books to the school library. This year we are partnering once again with local bookstore, Rediscovered Books, for a school wide book fair.     The online book fair will open January 24th and run through January 29th.  Rediscovered Books is offering 30% of book fair sales for in-store credit that is used to purchase new books for our classrooms and school library.   We will send out shopping information to Families on opening day.
