A Place to Grow: Where Learning Continues Beyond the School Day
In our aftercare program, our students learn to be kind, develop empathy, and work together. They participate in projects, play games, and work with friends to build teamwork and communication skills. They also enhance their social-emotional skills through free choice and a positive atmosphere. We also go outside, create art, and enjoy music to enrich the overall experience.
Our after-school program is a great way for your child to expand on their interests or try new things. This can be added in conjunction with our extended day program. Families can enroll in after-school activities, without having to leave our campus!
The 5 Key Elements of Our Program:
In aftercare, we continue the Montessori philosophy. We help our students be independent, kind, and make good choices. They pick activities they like and learn to use their time well. They also learn how to be part of a group and take personal responsibility. Our staff members guide them to solve problems in a calm and respectful way.
Our students do art, music, and crafts to show their creativity. During outdoor time, they play sports and games to learn teamwork and social skills. They can also help with gardening, cleaning, and cooking. Our families love the community building nature of our Montessori classroom.
The aftercare environment is a continuation of the classroom space. Materials are accessible to our students and spark the interests of each child. Purposeful activity is encouraged. They get to make friends and practice being kind and caring with others.
Our rooms are calm and peaceful. Students choose their own activities. They can move around and set up their own work space. Older children often mentor younger children and take part in collaborative projects.
We maintain Montessori principles in aftercare. This helps our students feel safe and secure. It also helps them develop emotional intelligence and strong self-efficacy.
