Save the Date- End of School Year Celebration
We are excited to invite you to an end of the school year celebration in your child’s classroom on our last day of school, Wednesday June 28th! The celebration will be in the morning beginning at 9:30am (for Primary classes- rooms 5, 6 & 7) and 10:30am (for toddler & 2s classrooms room 10, 11, 3 & 4) and will include an age-appropriate activity and potluck style snacks. We will not be hosting an end of the year party for infants.
For more information and to sign up to bring snacks/supplies to the celebration, please reach out to your child’s classroom teacher.
Summer Closures and Holidays
· June 29 & 30th- School is closed for Teacher Professional Development
· July 4th- School closed
· August 28- September 1st- School closed for Teacher Professional Development
· September 4th- Labor Day- School closed
· September 5th- First Day of School
If you are planning on bringing your child on July 3rd, there is a sign-up sheet at the front desk by classroom. There is no additional cost for July 3rd, we are just looking to get a headcount to ensure we have enough teachers working that day.
If you would like a hard copy of the 2023-2024 school year calendar, they are available at the front desk.
Summer Program
Montessori Academy Meridian is proud to offer year-round programming. This year, we will not be offering week-to-week “summer camp” care but instead will continue to offer our regularly scheduled monthly school program. There are no changes to the cost of care or hours of operation for the summer. Since you are already enrolled in school, there are no additional forms or steps that you need to do to continue for summer.
If you are changing anything about your schedule for the summer, we will need to know in writing by the 15th of June.
If your child is in a Primary Classroom (rooms 5, 6 & 7), your student’s classroom and teacher may be changing for the summer. Please reach out to the front desk about which classroom your child will be in this summer.
If you are not continuing care with us for next school year, you will need to provide us at least 30-days notice in writing.
Summer Electives
This summer, we are excited to offer the following electives:
· Mondays- Soccer Shots- 3:00 to 3:30pm
· Tuesday- Dance Connections- 3:00 to 3:30pm
· Wednesday- Amazing Athletes- 8:00 to 8:20 (18 months to 2.5 years) and 8:30am to 9am (2.5 years and older); Gymnastics- 3:00 to 3:30pm (2.5 years and older)
· Thursday- Little Tennis Academy- 2:30 to 3:00pm
If you are interested in signing up for summer electives, please see attachment for how to sign up for electives. The Science and Music elective will be back in September.
Learn about our Kindergarten Program
Please join us for a Kindergarten information meeting with Miss Debbie at 9:15am on June 14th in Room 8! Miss Debbie will be joining Montessori Academy Meridian as a Primary Lead Teacher and Kindergarten Teacher for the 2023-2024 school year! Anyone is welcome to join.
Reminder on School Hours
Beginning today, we will be strictly enforcing our late-pick-up and early-drop-off fees of $10 a minute.
Infant and Toddler Program– We are open from 7am to 6pm. Please do not come into the building before 7am.
Two-Year-Old and Primary Preschool Program– Our school day runs from 9am to 3pm. If you are only signed up for the school day, you may drop off no earlier then 8:45am and may pick up no later then 3:15pm. If you drop off before or after those hours, you will be charged $10 a minute. We have before care available as early as 7am and aftercare available as 6pm. If you would like to add before or aftercare, please let us know.
2023-2024 School Year
Are you planning on having you child continue enrollment at school in September? Have you registered yet for next year? Please ask Olive or Carley to check for you!
Are you not coming back next year? Please email Olive your child’s last day.
