A Note from Our Principal

Fall is in full swing at Montessori Academy!  Students are enjoying their outdoor time and are learning about the changing of seasons. We are planning fun, fall-themed activities for our students this month and are excited to share photos with you all through Links 2 Home app. Thank you for the work you do to support your child’s success at school!  We are very proud of our students and their most recent work with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation.  Our school was featured on a local news channel in honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month..

Check out Montessori Academy on KTVB !

Sincerely, Jamie Jennings

LIBRARY

Starting in October, our library will open to our students.  Each class is assigned a library day in which students may check out a book and take it home for the week.  Please return the book the following week to check out a new book.  If a book becomes lost or damaged, you are responsible to replace the book with the same or similar book.  Our library is run by willing volunteers.  If you are interested in helping with our library, please email chelsey@montessoriacademyidaho.com

KINDERGARTEN NEWS

Kindergarten students will begin their weekly enhancement programs of Music and PE this month on Fridays.   Music class is lead by Miss Oliva and PE class will be lead by Miss Emily. Kindergarten students will also begin their year-long community service projects.   This month all kindergarten students will have an in-house field trip with Ceramica.   Children will paint soup bowls to donate to the Empty Bowl project.    Paint days for your Kindergarten student will be announced soon!  Bowls will be sold in the community and funds raised will benefit the Idaho Food Bank.

Kindergarteners have created a collaborative questionnaire to spotlight our staff members.  Keep an eye out for our “K Q and A” in the lobby!

MONTESSORI COMMUNITY EVENTS

For Small Hands | This year our school will be participating in the For Small Hands School Credit promotion.   This program allows our school to earn credit to use to purchase classroom materials to enhance your child’s learning experience.   The For Small Hands catalog is filled with hundreds of age-appropriate, child-size items that encourage independence creativity, and problem-solving.   This is a wonderful opportunity to purchase unique and educational holiday gifts for the children in your life.   Catalogs are available in the office and order forms are due back to the office no later than October 20th if you’d like to participate in a group order to save on shipping and handling.

Scholastic Book Club |  Scholastic Book Clubs has served schools and families since 1948 by providing affordable, just-right books for kids that are carefully selected by teachers and reading experts. Book Clubs supports teachers with FREE Books and resources for the classroom, while helping children discover the pleasure and power of reading each month through choosing and owning their own books.   To participate, you can order online or turn in your order forms to the school no later than 15th of every month.   When ordering online, be sure to use our SCHOOL ORDER CODE:   GXLZ9

Fall Festival | On October 22 10 am-1 pm, Montessori Academy will be hosting an on-campus community event led by our staff and elective vendors.  This event is open for our currently enrolled families while also introducing prospective families to our campus.  We will have a variety of fall-themed activities, games, face painting and photo booth!  Hope to see you all there!

Book Fair | October 24-29 We are happy to share that local bookstore, Rediscovered Books, will be hosting our annual book fair.  Books can be purchased in person or through our online book fair store.  30% of profit earned will be rewarded as book credit for our classroom libraries.  Teachers will also have a “wish list” if you’d like to shop directly for your class.
