June 2022 News

A Note From Our Principal,

What a wonderful month of May where we celebrated teachers, moms and our extended spring season.   In June, we are continuing the celebrations and learning.   This month we celebrate all of our father’s, kindergarten graduates, and a year’s worth of learning from all our students.   Thank you Montessori families for showing resilience and fortitude a year like none other.   You have been steadfast in encouraging your children when the world looked upside down, and you have invested in a learning pedagogy that best supports your young learner.  We appreciate all your support in helping our children thrive and grow.

For those of you continuing in our summer camps of July and August, be on the lookout for an additional summer newsletter with all camp details.   And finally, for any students and families taking a summer break or graduating from our school we wish you all a wonderful summer!

Sincerely, Lila Afoa

Sun Safety

With the summer warm months upon us, we are looking at sun safety for all students while outside.   Please remember to bring your child to school with sunscreen already applied and consider encouraging your child to wear a sun hat as added protection.   If you are in after care, we will be applying a secondary coat of sunscreen for added safety.  Please ensure that your child is listed on the sunscreen list if you would like your child to be included.

Books!

June 13-19th will be the last week of our school library checkout.  Please ensure that all books checked out from our school library are returned to the school no later than June 24th.

Limited 2021-2022 yearbooks are still available for purchase.   All books should be available for pick up in the office by the last week of school.

End of Year Celebrations

We are so proud of all the work our kindergarten students have accomplished in their final year of Montessori.   We have had a year of learning together and we send them off to first grade with all our best wishes.   On June 23rd our school will be celebrating our 2022 kindergarten graduates.   Due to our limited playground space and knowing that we have a large graduating class, we are limiting attendees to immediate family members only.  Performance will begin at 10:00am.  Congratulations graduates; you’ve got this!

Our whole school will be celebrating the end of year with an all school outdoor picnic on June 29th.   No heat ups will be available and we ask that ALL nut products stay at home (including almond butter).    We will be serving all fruit popsicles to the students, setting up some lawn games and much more!   Look for fun photos on your daily report.   Thank you Montessori families for showing resilience and fortitude a year like none other.   You have shown resilience and fortitude in navigating all this year brought.   We appreciate all your support in helping our children thrive and grow.
