A Note From Our Principal
We hope that you all had a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving with your loved ones. As the winter holidays approach we have many special activities planned for our students and look forward to spending this season with them. Holidays can bring many exciting and fun traditions. The gift of quality time with family is one gift that often gets missed as a wrapped package under the tree. I encourage you all to unwrap this gift as slowly as possible and treasure each minute! Weather-Related Closure Reminders
As a reminder, we do not always follow the closure schedule of the local public schools. Our goal is to be open as many days as possible to support our parents. If we must close or delay opening due to inclement weather, you will receive a notification via Links 2 Home as soon as the closure is announced. We also post notifications on our website, voicemail and report to media outlets by 6 am.
Safety Reminder: Please remember to slow down and give drivers extra space and time when in the parking lot. In ice conditions the parking lot can get extra slippery even when dry so please use caution.
Winter Camp
Registration is still open for those interested in attending our upcoming school closure childcare days. Winter camp dates are day camps running from 8am- 5pm on certain days during the school closure. Dates offered this year are December 27-30 & January 3-4. Please email Sarah for a registration link to sign up as space is limited. Deadline to register for Winter camp is December 15th.
This year we are also running a specialty elective for any student interested. The specialty elective class is Boise Bits Kids Run Club. Registration links and fees can be found in the school lobby or you can email Jamie to send you a winter camp elective registration link. Deadline to register for Boise Bits is December 15th.
Holiday Giving
This year’s Giving Tree gifts will support The Boise Angels. The Boise Angels is a non-profit organization whose mission is to walk alongside children, youth, and families in the foster care community by offering consistent support through intentional giving, relationship building, and mentorship. Items we will collect are: kids pajamas, blankets, backpacks and coffee gift cards to support the fostering families. All collections will be collected from through December 17th and a representative from the organization will pick items up to distribute along their “Love Box” project. We thank you for your generosity in helping others in need this holiday season.
Staff Updates
Teacher Appreciation: December 15th we will be doing a teacher appreciation coffee cart. If any families would be willing to donate orange juice, donuts, muffins or other breakfast items we would sincerely appreciate it. We also need 1 parent volunteer to help hand the coffee out to teachers. It would be Wednesday, December 15th from 9:30-10:30 am. If you are available to help, please email sarah.frazee@montessoriacademyidaho.com
This month we are saying goodbye to two of our teaching assistants, Miss Allyson and Miss Jaya. We wish them all the best in their move out of state and will miss them in our school and classrooms. Please be on the lookout in January newsletter for our new incoming teachers for before care and room 4 Teaching Assistant.
