A Note From Our Principal

Fall is in full swing and our students are enjoying the extra outdoor time, nature walks and seasonal curriculum activities. We are planning fun fall-themed activities for our students this month and are excited to share photos with you all through Links 2 Home app. As always, please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.

Health & Safety

Our goal is to stay open for 5 day a week in person learning. To ensure this can take place we need your support. As we continue our health and safety protocols here at the school we ask that you please support our efforts by following recommended safety measures while at home and out in public.   Below are a few items that our school is adding to our health and safety protocols and procedures.  For more information about those measures please visit https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prevent-getting-sick/index.html   Together we can keep our classrooms open.

  • As of October 1st, we are opening our classrooms earlier to encourage our families to utilize the below staggered drop-off & pick-up times.

Rooms 2, 3, 5 & 7:  Drop-off window 8:40-8:50 am; pick-up window 2:50-3 pm.

Rooms 1, 4 & 6:  Drop-off window 8:50-9:00 am; pick-up window 3-3:10 pm.

  •  The school policy regarding facial covering has been amended to state that all staff will be required to wear face masks unless they obtain an approved modification.

Kindergarten News

Kindergarten students will begin their weekly enhancement programs of Music and PE.   Music class is lead by Miss Kat and will be every Wednesday while PE class will be lead by Miss Emily every Friday.    Kindergarten students will also begin their year long community service projects.   This month all kindergarten students will have a in-house field trip to Ceramica.   Children will paint soup bowls to donate to the Empty Bowl project.    Paint days for your Kindergarten student will be posted on your classroom door.  Bowls will be sold in the community and funds raised will benefit the Idaho Food Bank.

Montessori Community Events

Lowe Family Farmstead:  The Lowe Family Farmstead has offered a special Montessori night for all of our families.   October 28th from 4pm-9pm, you can bring your family to the Farmstead for a discounted entrance rate of $6.99.   This family fun, outdoor venue offers games for the kids, pumpkins for sale, food, corn mazes and much more! Just mention “Montessori Academy” at the gate to receive your discounted rate.

Boise Speech Tree – Free speech and language screenings will be available at Boise Speech Tree for any of our Montessori Academy families. Early detection and intervention of speech-language delays results in better outcomes, so this is a great opportunity to make sure your child is meeting their developmental milestones. Screenings will be conducted individually using norm-based tools at Boise Speech Tree. Please contact Laura Rogers, MS, CCC-SLP at (208) 830-9311 to schedule a screening.  More information will be available in the school lobby.

For Small Hands:  This year our school will be participating in the For Small Hands School Credit promotion.   This program allows our school to earn credit to use to purchase classroom materials to enhance your child’s learning experience.   The For Small Hands catalog is filled with hundreds of age-appropriate, child-size items that encourage independence creativity, and problem-solving.   This is a wonderful opportunity to purchase unique and educational holiday gifts for the children in your life.   Catalogs are available in the office and order forms are due back to the office no later than October 20th if you’d like to participate in a group order to save on shipping and handling.
