A Note From Our Principal
A new decade; isn’t it exciting? As we move into 2020 I am reminded that family and the kindness we share with one another are a timeless gift that never goes out of season. Thank you for celebrating the spirit of the season by participating in our giving initiatives last month. Donations brought into the school went to support the Ronald McDonald House and Idaho Food Bank and were truly appreciated by the families these organizations support. January is the last month for our global outreach efforts in support of Nourish the Children. This non profit initiative helps feed malnourished children as well as support our local school by contributing a portion of sales back to our PTO earmarked towards Parkcenter student scholarships. For more information on how to purchase, see the lobby display.

New This Month
On January 17th Kellie, from Connection First Consulting, will be available in the lobby from 8:30-9:30 answering parenting questions and offering tips to thrive! Connection First is looking at setting a Positive Discipline parenting class schedule this spring if there is enough interest. Please let us know if this is something you’d like to see offered.
New Bedding Bags: We have new and improved bedding bags for those who nap or rest. These bags are larger with sturdy handles and a zipper to make packing away easier and help children become more independent. Please be aware bedding needs to be small enough to fit entirely inside the new bags. With multiple nap bags ,contained bedding helps meet our health requirements as well as tidy storage.
Priority Re-Enrollment for 2020 – 2021
Soon it will be time to make decisions regarding your children’s re-enrollment for the next school year. We want to ensure that you have all the information you need to make an informed decision. In February, we will be hosting a Kindergarten orientation for parents of children who will be 5 by September 1st, 2019.
Priority enrollment for Parkcenter Montessori Academy will begin on the last week of January and end in February. Priority enrollment is open ONLY to currently enrolled families. Once Priority enrollment closes, we will begin to offer enrollment to families on our waitlist.
Kindergarten Orientation (at Parkcenter Montessori Academy) : February 6, 2020 from 6:00-7:00 (childcare available, please RSVP in the lobby)
Liberty Elementary Montessori Information Night: (see Boise School District location) January 29, 2020
Silent Journey: A Parent Education Evening
On January 16th from 5:30-7pm parents are invited to walk through the 5 curricular areas of a primary Montessori classroom. See what it’s like to be in the Montessori work period and how a teacher can use a material to approach a variety of direct and indirect goals. Our certified Montessori teachers will be present and setting out the scope and sequence of the Montessori materials. This is a chance to better understanding the process of the 3 year learning cycle and how your child develops skill and mastery of the curriculum.
We hope to see you all there! Childcare will be provided at no extra cost but please RSVP with the office so that we ensure enough teachers are present.
