A Note From Our Principal,
Summer has come to an end and another school year is upon us. We’d like to extend a warm welcome to our new families, and a sincere thank you to returning families and those that chose to spend their summer with us. We enjoyed making memories with your children!
We recognize that this is a busy time for many families and are using this month’s school newsletter to include reminders on school closures, communication, security and more. Please read through this newsletter carefully, and let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
Holiday Closures & School Year Calendar
Our school does not follow the local elementary school schedule as we are open more days per year. You can access our school year calendar closures here for a printable version to use as a reference. Please note that on during winter, spring and summer breaks, optional camp schedules are available. Information and registration for these camps will be made available 3-4 weeks prior.
Communication is an important part of connecting home to school. Our daily, weekly and monthly platforms of digital communications are done primarily through our Links 2 Home. If you’re not currently receiving photos and daily reports for your child you can easily change this by downloading the Links 2 Home app on your phone. Just type ‘Links 2 Home’ in the search bar for the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. After downloading Links 2 Home you can register with the same email address that you used to enroll your child in our school. Links 2 Home also allows you to leave drop-off notes for your child and notify your child’s teacher of absences. If you’re having issues accessing Links 2 Home please let us know.
Below are the classroom newsletters. Please click on your child’s classroom to read for important information regarding your child’s classroom. In addition, look in the classroom for the black Parent Board where important information will also be posted.
School Picture Day
It’s time to get spiffed up for fall pictures! Lifetouch will be taking photos of all of our students (including classroom group photos, on September 18-20. Each classroom has a designated photo day, click here to see when your child’s class will be photographed. On your child’s photo day, please send your student to school in the clothes you want them to wear for their photo. All photos will be taken before lunch and nap time to ensure optimal cuteness.
Photo preview packets will be available for all classrooms by Friday, September 20th at 3 pm. Preview packets will have pricing and information for purchasing individual and group pictures.
Back to School Night
September 5th from 6-7 each classroom will be hosting a back to school event for all parents. From 6-6:30 we invite you to come and meet our support teachers and meet our local vendor partners in the lobby. From 6:30-7 our classrooms will host a informative evening in their classrooms talking about their plans for the new school year and ways to support your child in their Montessori classroom. Given that all of our classrooms will be utilized for teachers and parents, there will be no childcare offered during this event.
Our Boise Parent Teacher Organization (BMPTO) will once again be hosting a Montessori Family Night at The Farmstead on October 9th. Returning this year is the “Kiss the Pig” fundraiser where classrooms will be asking for the children to vote with coins to see who will win a kiss from a pig at the event! This year the Farmstead has moved to a new location but we will be sending more information about the event as time gets closer. We hope to see you there!
