Message from the Principal
Dear Montessori Academy Families;
We have survived a snowy and wet February! March is coming in like a lion with exciting events happening!
Spelling Bee—March 2
Please join us at Boise State on Saturday March 2, to support our Spelling Bee Champion, Georgia! The Scripps Southwest Regional Spelling bee is held at the Stueckle Sky Center next to Albertsons Stadium starting at 10 am. KIVI-TV will be live-streaming on their social media channel for those unable to join in person.
Pancake Breakfast—March 6
Miss Randi and I will be once again donning our pancake flipping skills for our annual Pancake Breakfast on March 6th from 7-9am. Please ensure you have turned in your form by Monday March 4th to ensure we have enough pancakes and fruit for everyone! Breakfast with family and friends is the best way to start the day!
Parent Educator-March 12
Kellie Resue our resident parent educator and coach will be in our lobby on March 12th from 8:45-9:30. She has Positive Discipline classes starting at our school in April. Grab a registration form in the office.
Our classrooms and PTO are busy planning for yet another incredible Spring Show/Social. Our theme this year is Greek! All classrooms will be learning about Greek culture over the next few months. Upper Elementary is reading the Odyssey and will be creating their own version with a 90’s twist. Lower Elementary and our Primary classrooms will be introduced to Greece, the path traveled, food, clothing, transportation and learning some musical songs with that 90’s twist to prepare for our Show. Please watch our whiteboards and Tadpole notifications for ways you can be involved and support these events! The event date is pending as we are confirming dates with our venue. All children will be performing at the Show.
Kindergarten thru Third grade all have fieldtrips this month, so please ensure you watch and sign those permissions slips. Kindergarten students are headed to Boise Art Museum, 1st grade is headed to Foothills Learning Center, 2nd and 3rd grades are taking an adventure at the MK Nature Center. Each fieldtrip is tied to curricular goals.
Blood Drive—March 20
The Red Cross will be on campus on March 20th from 8am-1pm. Information on how to register for a timeslot will be posted at the check in counters soon.
Spring Break—Gap Camp
Spring Break is also this month, March 25-29th. We have a half day/early release on Friday March 22. School hours for half day are 7am-12:30 pm. While school will not be in session, for those families that need support, we are offering Spring Break Gap Camp daily form 8am-5pm. Registration is in the office. We are planning some in house fieldtrips, science and cooking fun, group games, and more. Please ensure you are registered by March 15th to ensure we have space.
Our formative assessments in language and literacy K-6th are upcoming as we return from Spring Break. During this time to ensure your child has a successful testing experience, please make sure your child receives adequate sleep each night and a healthy breakfast each morning. Thank you for your support in making this a successful time for our students!
Make it a great month;
