Our small school made a big impact in last month’s giving opportunity supporting the Idaho Food Bank. Parkcenter families and students gathered 299 pounds of food while art projects created and donated this summer were auctioned off during the “Empty Bowl” event. The bowls helped raise over $250! Thank you to everyone who participated!

We are looking for volunteers to help accept payments, assist students in gift wrapping and tracking inventory in our library shop. Please contact Jamie with any questions and if you’d like to volunteer to help! This was a fun experience for the kids last year and we will happily take all the help we can get to ensure a positive shopping experience.

Holiday Giving Project
Our school will be partnering with the Idaho Refugee Community during the month of December. Our goal is to help outfit children ages 2-12 years of age and to encourage them to get outdoors this winter! In the lobby we have our annual “Giving Tree” set up with tags listing needed items that we are collecting. Each year our Giving Tree is set up as an opportunity for children to support other children in our local community. The theme of our tree this year is “Let’s Play Outside” and we are collecting new and gently used winter items for children ages 2-12 years old. All gift items are due to school by DECEMBER 18th at 9 am.
This year’s Giving Tree gifts will go to support the Idaho refugee community. Montessori Academy Parkcenter will partner with Jannus Economic Opportunity (EO) to help support their Refugee Childcare Business Development project for families. Jannus EO offers childcare business development support that empowers refugees, primarily women, to become economically self-sufficient by establishing in-home childcare- a much needed service that provides culturally sensitive, affordable, safe, licensed care for children. All collected items will go directly to the boys and girls (ages 2-12 years old) attending these childcare programs to encourage winter outdoor activity.”
Inclement Weather Reminders
We do not always follow the closure schedule of the local public schools because we don’t have to contend with the same transportation issues as public schools. Our goal is to be open as many days as possible to support our working parents. If we must close or delay opening because our teachers cannot safely get to work, you will receive a notification via Links 2 Home as soon as the closure is announced. In addition we will also post notifications on our website, Facebook page and the local news.
