A Note from Our Principal,
During this holiday season of celebration, giving, and family gatherings, I am reminded of the following quote from the Dalai Lama: “Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them humanity cannot survive.” I feel very fortunate to be at a school where our teachers show love and compassion to our students’ lives every day.
The month of December encompasses several fun activities. Spirit Day Fridays start on the December 7th with Hat Day. Please encourage your child to show his/her school spirit on Fridays by following our themed Friday events. Our National Ancillary Program is planning and organizing a Little Shoppers Shoppe the 10th – 13th of December for students to shop for gifts. More information about the shoppe will be made available soon in your child’s cubby. The Primary (Toddler – Kindergarten) music program will be held on Friday, December 21st, see your classroom Newsletter for specific times. Our Elementary winter STEM parties are scheduled for Friday, December 21st. Winter Break will begin Friday, December 21st at 12:30 (early release) and school will resume Monday, January 7th.
During Winter Break, we would like for you to remember to have your child read or be read to for 20 minutes or more each day. Reading is such a powerful tool for building a child’s mind. We want our families and community to help us achieve our high expectations for each student. We will be offering a Winter Gap Camp December 27-28 and January 2-4 for families seeking fun and engaging activities during the long break. Registration is open and you can choose how many days you would like to attend. Campers will enjoy STEM, art, cooking, games, and more! Don’t miss out and register today. Registration closes on the 14th! Your input and support is very important to us. Please feel free to contact me anytime with any ideas, questions, or concerns.
In conclusion, I hope that each one of you have a safe and joyful holiday season and take time to enjoy your family.
School Wide Community Service Initiatives for December
With the season of celebration and giving, we appreciate your support to make this holiday season special for those on our “list”! We are partnering with the Women’s and Children Alliance, Book It Forward, and local retirement communities this month.
PAJAMAS!!! We are collecting children’s pajamas for all ages this holiday season. They will be given to the WCA to support those families residing in their facility. A collection bin will be available in the lobby.
Book It Forward
Book It Forward was incredibly honored by our new book donation in October! They are hoping for some additional support by donations of used children’s books! These books will be donated to students in need. So as you are doing some winter cleaning, grab those used books no longer being read and donate today.
Your students will be participating in one way or another to make this holiday season brighter for the seniors in our community! Kindergarten students will be visiting to sing and share a snack! We have invited a group to come join us at our school for a similar experience for our youngest to our oldest!
