Celebrating Arts in Montessori
This month our school is celebrating the arts! In Montessori classrooms, art exposures are built into the daily experience of the child. Our teachers help the children to explore different mediums, textures, music, movement and expressions of art by highlighting different artists/musicians of the month. During the month of May we will be highlighting some of these year long practiced skills through some school wide events. Please read below.
May 10th-Spring Performance 5:30-6:30
Parkcenter Montessori along with Montessori Academy are partnering to put on an all school production. “Sing Me A Story” is this year’s 45 minute musical theater production. The musical will tell a story of song and literacy throughout time. Our elementary students from Academy will perform a play while the Primary and Pre-Montessori children will all have the opportunity to perform a song on stage.
School will be closing early on May 10th to encourage all staff and families to attend. Given the size of our group, this event will be off campus and at the Idaho Shakespeare Theater. This venue is an outdoor theater where families are encouraged to bring dinner and blankets and make an evening of it! Please note that lawn chairs are NOT permitted in the theatre as space is limited. The Boise Montessori Parent Teacher Organization (BMPTO) will be auctioning off a limited amount of table reservations. These tables would be the only reserved seating offered at the night of the venue. Proceeds made from the table sales will support the PTO and their support of our Boise Montessori schools. More information about table sales will be sent out upon opening of the auction.
- School will close early at 4:30 PM on May 10th.
- Idaho Shakespeare Festival will open at 5:00 PM / Performance begins at 5:30-6:30
- Please do not bring lawn chairs
- Picnic dinners are encouraged.
- Limited table sales will be auctioned off. (More information to come)
“Rock-tion”- Art Display and Auction
Throughout the school year, students have been working on a variety of art pieces that will be on display during our Art Exhibit Week. The pieces on display will be available for purchase by silent auction. All proceeds raised will go towards new balance equipment for the playground.
Parkcenter Montessori Yearbooks
Our yearbook committee has been hard at work designing and photographing the children and events throughout the school year. Orders for your child’s yearbook are now available at our pre-sale prices through May 15th. After May 15th, limited book sales will be available until supplies last.

Teacher Appreciation Week: May 7-11
Our teachers are the best! During this week there are various ways we’ve planned to show our teachers how much we appreciate them! Monday is “bring a flower for teacher” day. We will also have card stations set up to make a thank you card for teacher. Parent volunteers are also needed for events scheduled. For a complete schedule of events or ways that you can help please contact Miss Jamie at Jamie.Jennings@nlcinc.com.
Welcome Our New Assistant Principal
I would like to introduce Sarah Frazee as our new Assistant Principal. Sarah actually worked at Parckcenter Montessori years ago as an Assistant Teacher after getting her BA in Elementary Education. Since that time she obtained her Master of Business Administration degree from BSU and had two beautiful children. Sarah is a big proponent of the Montessori Method and Parkcenter Montessori in particular. Her son is in Miss Rose’s room and baby sister is already on the wait list. Please help me welcome Sarah into her new role! Sarah’s email is Sarah.Frazee@nlcinc.com.
