Dear Parkcenter Montessori Families;
I hope that everyone enjoyed Spring Break having time for rest and enjoying each others company. During our Spring Camp our teachers and students had a wonderful time making new friends, experimenting with making rain clouds, our flying toilet paper experiments and much more. Thank you to everyone who joined us.
School Closed April 26-27 for Parent Teacher Conferences
We will be hosting parent teacher conferences April 26-27th at various times. This is the time we will be sharing details on growth and progress about your child as well as goals to finish out the school year. Teachers and students are working very hard to prepare so please ensure that you select a time slot that meets your families needs. We appreciate all efforts to support our teachers and students by attending these set aside days. As usual, we will have childcare during your scheduled conference time slot. Please see sign up sheets located on parent boards in your children’s classroom the week of April 9th.
April Classroom Events
In our classrooms this month we will be inviting Boise School of Rock to come and work with each classroom to learn a musical selection. Every Wednesday the classrooms will be practicing their songs and choreography. All of our children and their families will be invited for a picnic evening performance at the Idaho Shakespeare Festival where the children will be collaborating with our sister school and performing on the stage! There will be more information as the event nears. This is always promises to be a family fun event! So, please save the date for May 10th’s Spring Performance at Idaho Shakespeare.
- April 20: Earth Day Celebration! This month our classrooms will be celebrating Earth Day early. On April 20th we will be opening our Children’s Garden with our annual Lady Bug release celebration. Children are encouraged to “Dress like their favorite Insect” at school. Teachers will be talking about our role and responsibility to our environment by looking at the life cycle of a lady bug. Did you know that lady bugs feed on aphids which in turn help our crops to flourish? We are excited to celebrate and learn more about ways we, too, can help our world around us.
- April 30-May 4: Art Appreciation Week. During this week we will have a art showcase table where children who would like to feature their art from class, will be encouraged to showcase. In addition, we will also have our first ever: “Rock-Auction” where select art pieces will be up for sale! There will be art from students and teachers available for sale with all proceeds going to support our Boise Montessori Parent Teacher Organization. More information to come.
