SCHOOL CLOSED
Thursday, October 6-7th: Teacher In-service (no childcare available)
Thursday, October 27-28th: Parent/Teacher Fall Conferences (childcare available during your scheduled conference time)
From the Principals Office
First, I would like to thank all the families that came to our Fall Social last week! The beautiful weather, bouncy fun, delicious dishes and some pretty fancy face painting that made connecting with on e another even more fun! If you missed it, not to worry! Many families will be out in their Fall festivities at our upcoming Montessori event at the Farmstead. We’d love to see you out there and watch as one lucky teacher is voted to “kiss that pig”! (All monies raised from this event will go directly to your child’s classroom material wish list.)
We have a busy month ahead so here be sure to keep posted on all our upcoming events. Please note that our online monthly calendar has been edited to reflect our school wide events. Thank you for your support in making the start to our school year a success!

If your child is enrolled in our 3rd year (Kindergarten) program, please ensure that your child wears tennis shoes and wears appropriate clothing for P.E. on this day. Be on the lookout for our annual kindergarten Field Trip schedule set to come out some time this month.
- Yoga Elective is open enrollment through October 10th. We need at least 5 students enrolled for this elective to be offered. Please email Kellie.Stanley@nlcinc.com for more information.
Library Volunteers Needed: October typically opens our Parkcenter Library. Each classroom will have a designated library day for their students to visit and check out a book for the week. Our library is ran by our Boise Montessori Parent Teacher Organization (BMPTO) and the support of parent volunteers. In order to fully open, we need your help!
- We are looking for a parent volunteer to help facilitate library day for each classroom. The librarian duties may include bringing a few small groups of children to the library, checking books in/out, tracking and communicating outstanding student books through our library computer, reading a story to the children, re shelving books and keeping the library clean after class use.
- We are also looking for parents who could help cover new books. This is a way to help volunteer from home! See Jamie Jennings for more information. A special thanks to Sunniva Hoff and Danielle Coon for their school wide help in the library.
For more information on library volunteering, please see your child’s teacher and/or email Jamie.Jennings@nlcinc.com. Library Classroom Schedule are as follows:
Tuesday- Room 6 & 7
Wednesday- Room 5

Fundraising
This year the BMPTO and Parkcenter Montessori teachers will be fundraising to enhance the cultural lessons of our school. The teachers have selected some enriching materials for their Biome materials. In addition to these materials, the PTO has awarded student scholarships as well as sponsored our Fall Social and other parent/student events throughout the year. There is talk this year about bringing back the STEM bus! If you would like to be a part of this organization, or would like to be part of the planning committees for our annual events please let us know.
Our school will also be hosting a fundraiser this month, Yankee Candle. More information will follow in next week’s Friday folders. The funds for any school fundraiser this will go to boost our annual capital expense funds for building improvements and technology updates. Please remember that any fundraising participation is 100% optional.
Dates To Note
School Closures on October 6,7,27,28.
Parent/Teacher conference time sign up will be posted by October 10th. All families are asked to sign up for a 30 minute conference time.
October 31st is Halloween. We ask that you save costumes and candy for your home celebrations. There is a “crazy hair” dress up day scheduled for this day that your children and parents are welcomed to participate in!
Fall photos are expected to return by November 15th. A retake day will be scheduled once photos have returned. Pick up for ordered packets will be in the lobby.
