Summer Camp 2016 Registration
Attached you will find the summer registration packets for Parkcenter Montessori Summer Camp enrollment for the months of July and August. Please review the attached summer registration forms. Registration is limited, so don’t wait! The last day to register for Summer Camp will be April 29th. Return the yellow registration schedule to save enrolment for your child. Remember that our school is a 10 month school so the last official day of school will be June 30, 2016. Summer camp will officially begin on July 5th 2016.
Welcome to Summer Camp 2016
Your child is invited to join us for Summer Camp 2016! Each week, campers jump into action, participating in exciting sports programs, exploring nature, becoming involved in performance and creative arts, playing a part in group activities and attending special events. Primary Students will have 1-2 in house fieldtrips per week. Elementary students (students graduating Kindergarten or former students entering 2nd grade) will be off campus 1-2 times weekly in our local community. Camp starts at 9 and runs through 3pm daily. We will continue to offer before camp and after camp program hours; our operating hours remain 7am-6pm.
We are no longer offering drop in days during the summer. Campers must register for 3,4 or 5 day schedules. We do, however, offer week to week enrollment. This way you only pay for the weeks you select to attend. For those students that register for 5 weeks or more, a camp t-shirt will be included at no additional cost.
Summer Electives
Our elective programing during summer will be changing for July and August. Not all vendors will continue during the summer months, some will change their schedules. This means that June 2016 will begin open enrollment for elective programs. Every child will need to re-register to continue elective summer classes during July and August. This open registration will be available on the elective board as of June 1st.
Specialty Camps
The final piece to Summer Camp is we will be offering some Specialty Camps. Specialty Camps will be provided by separate vendors at our school and children must be 3 years of age to attend. The specialty camps that we are currently working on are a Spanish Camp, Cooking Camp and Soccer Camp. Each camp will run 1 week. We will send out more information and registration for those Specialty Camps once they have been confirmed with the vendors. Specialty Camps are in addition to our Elective classes offered from 3-4 pm.
Library
We are adding some new books to our school’s library and need some extra help. We need help with entering books into the system and covering each book. If you are interested in doing either book entry or book covering, please email Elisabeth at: Elisabeth.lemas@nlcinc.com.

Spring Break Childcare
Registration for Spring Break childcare is now open in the lobby. During our school closure of March 21-25th we will be offering a fun filled spring camp, provided we have a minimum of 12 students pre-register. The last day to add/drop care is March 11th. Childcare days are $35 per day and operating hours are 8am-5pm.
Spring Performance: Date Change
Our all school performance this year has changed. We have moved the date to accommodate for the best outdoor weather possible as it is an outdoor performance. Please save the date for this event, we really hope you can all make it! (more information to come)
When: Wednesday, MAY 4th.
Where: Idaho Shakespeare Festival Outdoor Amphitheatre
Time: Doors Open at 5, performance beginning at 6. (Parkcenter Montessori will close early at 4pm this day.)

* Yearbook Sale
The 2nd annual Parkcenter Montessori Yearbook is coming out by end of June 2016. Pre-sale forms will go home in April so don’t miss them! This week, Wednesday and Thursday, we will be shooting individual student photographs to be included in the yearbook. If you would not like your picture included, please let the office know. Otherwise, every child will be photographed. Photographs will be from 9-11 on both Wednesday and Thursday this week. The yearbook photos are not for purchase.
* Spring Photographs
Barb Bergeson Studios is back! Every year Barb offers her portrait style photos for a discounted cost to our families. March 30 and 31st we will have our spring photographs for purchase. Please see the attached order forms for more information. Your child will not be photographed if you do not turn in a form, so be sure to turn your form in today.
* Sensorial Curriculum Night
Come join us at 4:30 here at Parkcenter Montessori to hear about our Sensorial curriculum. Our teachers will walk you through the lay out, presentation, and learning objectives of our Sensorial materials that your children use every day. This is a free parent information night and childcare is provided free of charge. Sign up today for the event.
* Art to Remember
Our school is participating in a healthy, creative fundraiser with “Art to Remember”.
Right now the children are busy creating colorful, fun artwork that we will showcase during our February Art Fair. This year our school is partnering with “Art to Remember” fundraiser where you will have the chance to order personalized materials with your child’s art.
Be on the lookout for your child’s art and order form by March 7th.
* Music & Movement
3/11/16: JJ Dion will be here to sing an all school concert of silly songs and dancing. This will be a fun event for all! Event starts at 10am.
3/17/16: Irish Dancers will be performing some high stepping dance moves for the children. This is brought to us by 5,6,7 Dance Troupe! Don’t forget to wear green on this day!
3/29/16: We have a wonderful opportunity to host a special children’s performer. Jeff & Paige (www.jeffandpaige.org ) will be performing in Boise at the Treefort music festival for Children. A few of our families have asked and they have agreed to do a special performance for our school! Their songs and stories focus on science and and nature and are quite catchy! A huge thank you to the Speiss and Rolph family for making it possible!
